This program equips students with technical skills, theoretical understanding, and real-world applications, emphasizing safety, precision, and adherence to FAA regulations.
Students begin by exploring aerodynamics and flight mechanics, transitioning from theoretical principles to practical applications through model construction and simulation. They gain foundational skills in aircraft electrical systems, engines, and propellers, learning to safely install, inspect, and maintain key components.
The pathway also introduces structural repair and maintenance through courses on nonmetallic and sheet metal structures. Students work with composite materials, aluminum alloys, and corrosion prevention, applying precise repair techniques critical to aircraft integrity.
In the growing field of unmanned aerial systems, students learn to build, repair, program, and operate drones in compliance with FAA regulations. They engage in simulated tasks reflecting real-world drone applications in various industries.
Aviation systems and operations are further explored through flight-focused coursework. Students develop skills in flight communications, navigation, and operations, simulating preflight and post-flight procedures and adhering to FAA guidelines. Topics include equipment operation, weather interpretation, and flight path planning, fostering comprehensive operational knowledge.

The Information Technology: Computer and Network Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Pathway equips students with essential skills and knowledge to succeed in the IT field. This pathway emphasizes real-world problem-solving, advanced technical expertise, and professional preparation, offering a comprehensive exploration of computer systems, networks, and emerging technologies.
Students begin by learning the characteristics and features of various computer operating systems. They gain hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing operating systems, hardware, applications, and networks. Key topics include network security, device maintenance, and recovery techniques, as well as the fundamentals of local and remote connectivity. Students also develop skills in desktop support, managing user access, configuring enterprise networks, and maintaining secure systems.
The pathway’s focus on Computer Maintenance and Troubleshooting provides students with the problem-solving skills necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade computer systems. Topics include operational procedures, software and hardware diagnostics, operating system maintenance, and system security. Students apply these skills in home and office environments to ensure system reliability and performance.
Students are also introduced to Cloud and Virtualization Technologies, learning the fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization. This course covers the use of internal networks and the Internet to access cloud-based resources securely. Students explore digital software resources, virtualization tools, and technologies from leading cloud platforms, preparing them for roles in today’s increasingly digital workplace.
The pathway explores cutting-edge topics in Artificial Intelligence (AI), where students study the history, applications, and ethical considerations of AI. They apply AI technologies to solve real-world problems and develop innovative solutions, gaining a deeper understanding of data science and current AI applications.
The program culminates in the Career Pathway Project (CPP) in Information Technology, a capstone experience where students apply their knowledge to independent, real-world projects. This course allows students to explore a specialized area of interest while demonstrating decision-making, problem-solving, and independent learning skills.
Throughout the pathway, the CTE Lab in Information Technology offers a flexible learning environment for students to refine their skills and explore individual goals. Throughout the pathway, students explore key logistics functions such as inventory management, quality control, procurement, and safe operations within warehouses. They investigate the flow of goods from origin to destination, learning about green logistics, e-commerce applications, and innovative technologies shaping the industry. Students also delve into sector-specific logistics, gaining skills in receiving, storing, order processing, and shipping, as well as material management and dispatching.
A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and problem-solving is woven throughout the program, ensuring students are equipped to meet industry standards. Topics such as supply chain optimization, material-handling equipment, and emerging trends in global logistics provide a broad perspective of this dynamic field. Students can earn certifications such as the Alabama Certified Employee (ACE) credentials, including CDL A, CDL B, Asphalt Roller, Bulldozer, and Skid Steer – Skills for Success. Additionally, students have the opportunity to achieve the MSSC Certified Logistics Associate and MSSC Certified Logistics Technician certifications, further boosting their employability in this vital sector. Students will also learn to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, drones for inventorying, and other equipment used in this career pathway.
